We are THRILLED to be hosting our THIRD annual Brew-B-Que at Frog Alley Brewing in Schenectady, NY. This competition was established in 2023, with the intention of bringing the spirit of competitive barbecue back to New York!

Each year, we host teams from far and wide to join us in multiple events, including a Saturday “Anything Goes!” People’s Choice competition and a Sunday KCBS Sanctioned Master’s Series Event. We are lucky to have received our Proclamation in 2024, making us a competition eligible for the Jack Daniel’s Championship. We need YOU to help us to get to 25 teams, so we can send our winner! In 2024, we were an auto for the Jack, which is yet to be determined this year.

We will also be hosting fun events for the public- Axe Throwing, live music, vendors, People’s Choice tasting and voting, a chicken wing eating contest, and more! Join us for a great weekend of beer, barbecue, and fun.

This year, we are asking community members, teams, and vendors to nominate an organization that is important to them as our charity of choice for the year. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the organization!

Seeking vendors!

We are seeking barbecue vendors on both Saturday and Sunday to sell to the public. We are also seeking vendors that would suit the event in any way (games, spices, clothing, etc.).

If you are participating in the KCBS Master’s Series on Sunday, but are NOT participating in the People’s Choice event on Saturday, we would be happy to have you as a single day vendor!

SATURDAY - JUNE 21st -

People’s Choice

$500 PURSE | NO ENTRY FEE

**Entry is FREE for all teams. We hope that all teams who are able will opt in to this event to help encourage members of our community to come out and taste!

The category is “Anything Goes!” If you can relate it to BBQ, you can enter it! All participants will be added to a map, which guests will use to sample and mark down their favorites! Voting will take place throughout the event, and all votes will be counted at the conclusion of the People’s Choice time frame.

If you plan to sign up for People’s Choice, you will need to submit an application to the department of health (link below). A portion of the proceeds from the People’s Choice tickets will go to assist teams in covering their food expenses, and the remainder will be donated to charity. We will send all teams participating a statement regarding this to submit to the DOH in order to waive the application fee.

Teams will be arranged on 2 large, adjacent parking areas, both paved. We will send out a map to all teams as we get closer to the event with layout and lots determined by whether or not the team has opted in to electric power resources.

Team arrival will begin Friday, June 21st at 1pm. We will invite teams to join us in our taproom for a welcoming event with music from a local band.

Contest will begin Saturday, June 22nd. Saturday will only be a People’s Choice contest!

Sunday, June 23red will be our Master’s Competition!

    The link below is for TEAM REGISTRATION.

    Registration fee is $300 for the Sunday Master’s Series event. We have limited electrical hook ups to opt in to for an additional $50. These are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

    The People’s Choice competition is FREE to opt in to. We ask that if teams have the ability to participate, they strongly consider doing to. This is our first year hosting and we want to get the community involved to help build it year over year!

    Please follow the instructions in the email sent regarding health permits to apply. Frog Alley Brewing Co will cover costs of applications for teams. To avoid payment, choose the “Pay In Person” option.
